Pasta with Cherry Tomatoes and Feta Cheese: Recipe, Hacks and Tips

Pasta with tomatoes and feta cheese is the easiest dinner you can make. Why? Let’s start with the ingredients; they’re pretty simple. You need cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, olive oil, passata, and spices. As for the kitchen utensils, you’ll need a baking dish and a pot.

Ingredients for pasta with cherry tomatoes and feta cheese including pasta, feta cheese, cherry tomatoes, black pitted olives, passata, olive oil, rosemary, ground black pepper, salt, and garlic.

Besides, prepping and cooking are pretty straightforward. Just place all ingredients except for pasta into the baking form. Start with tomatoes, passata, olive oil, and black pitted olives. Olives are optional, but we recommend adding them because they flavor the sauce. Sprinkle with spices. Put a block of feta cheese in the middle. Bake in the oven for 40-50 minutes, allowing the sauce time to infuse. During baking, tomatoes release their juice. And combine it with the aroma of garlic and Italian herbs.

After placing the baking form with the sauce in the oven, put the pot on to cook the pasta. Cook until al dente. You can use any pasta you like for this recipe. We used pasta shells, but spaghetti or tagliatelle work perfectly as well. And remember the most important hack: don’t forget to preserve the pasta water!

Take the baking form out of the oven. Crush cherry tomatoes with a fork and combine them with feta into a creamy sauce.

Add pasta water and mix. Add al dente pasta and combine it into a creamy and delicious dinner. If the sauce is too thick, add more pasta water. We love the taste of black olives in the pasta. They soak up the flavorful tomato juice during baking. And give the dish a savory, slightly salty taste.

Pasta with cherry tomatoes and feta cheese is ready! Now it’s time to enjoy.

Perfect Viral Feta Pasta

You may have seen a viral recipe for pasta with cherry tomatoes on TikTok. It’s easy, quick, and so creamy! Of course, we had to try it. But as you know, the devil is in the details. And the most important thing about the recipe is the taste. To get the best taste, you need the exact instructions. So, we decided to share the recipe with all the tips for perfect viral feta pasta. First, the amount of pasta water to get the perfect sauce consistency. Second, the quantity of tomatoes, feta, and other ingredients for a creamy sauce. And finally, the exact time to bake.

One ingredient we added to the dish is olives. Pitted black olives, to be exact. We cut them in half and added them to the sauce to bake with. As the tomatoes release their juice during baking, the olives soak it up, remaining crispy. The sauce is so much better with olives. It’s rich, savory, and slightly salty and sweet.

And, of course, the spices. They can make or break the tomato sauce. We added dried rosemary, ground black pepper, and a crushed garlic clove to the baking dish. It’s the best way to add flavor to a simple tomato sauce.

What Tomatoes Are the Best for Oven Feta Pasta Recipe?

Make sure to use fresh tomatoes for this recipe. We recommend ripe tomatoes with a thin skin. Of course, it all depends on the season. Opt for seasonal tomatoes—they are so sweet and juicy! In winter or spring, cherry tomatoes are the best option, as regular tomatoes tend to have thick skin. However, in summer, you can use aromatic seasonal fresh tomatoes. The most important thing is that the tomatoes are ripe.

We found cherry tomatoes in the grocery store and went for them. If the tomatoes are large, be sure to cut them into pieces.

Creamy Feta Pasta in the Oven

What can be quicker than pasta with tomato sauce? You would fry tomatoes with onions, garlic, and spices for a classic Italian tomato pasta. But let’s be honest. Sometimes, we miss the creaminess in this kind of sauce, right? Let’s change it up. Why not add feta for a creamy and savory umami flavor?

The best part is that you don’t need to cut the feta. Place the block in the middle of the other ingredients and pop it in the oven! Bake, combine, enjoy! It’s as easy as it sounds. Don’t forget olive oil and spices for extra flavor.
