Pink Chocolate Treats: Simple and Delicious
Pink chocolate is a great gift for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, birthdays, bridal showers, or baby showers. You can make a pink chocolate bar or whip up various sweet treats. Our favorites are pink chocolate strawberries and Oreo pops. Use lollipop sticks to dip fruits or pops into melted pink chocolate. And a piping bag with melted chocolate for beautiful decorations. For easy shaping, we recommend silicone molds. If you don’t have a silicone mold, use a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Let’s dive into delicious treats you can make with pink chocolate.
Pink chocolate strawberries are a wonderful gift and a perfect treat. You use chocolate for dipping, but the treat is healthier because of strawberries. Let the excess chocolate drip off before you place the strawberries on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper.
Pink chocolate bark is another great way to treat yourself. Spread melted pink chocolate in a single layer on a sheet pan. Add your favorite things like nuts or dried fruits. Put in the fridge. Then break into pieces and enjoy any time!
Make your hot chocolate special with white candy melts and pieces of pink chocolate to decorate the top. Adding a few drops of coconut oil will make the texture extra smooth. Now, it’s time to enjoy!
Shape your pink chocolate to match the occasion. Such as hearts for Valentine’s Day or baby carriages for a baby shower. Try different types of chocolates—like milk chocolate and dark chocolate—for toppings. Add color with food dyes. Doesn’t it look and sound delicious? It is! Perfect for any special occasion!
You don’t need dessert recipes to make these treats. They are so simple that the most time-consuming step is to color the chocolate. For the best results, you need to temper the chocolate properly. What does tempering mean? Let’s explain it as simple as possible. It’s heating and cooling the chocolate properly. And very important – not overheating the chocolate. Only if you do it correctly will chocolate store well at room temperature. Check our step-by-step tutorial to avoid all melting, coloring, and cooling pitfalls.

Your Complete Pink Chocolate Tutorial
Get ready to impress your friends with pink chocolate! We’ll show you how to make it at home in two easy ways: one with natural ingredients and one with food coloring. Some pitfalls can occur during coloring, such as chocolate becoming grainy or dull or getting white streaks or spots. We’ll show you how to avoid these issues and make perfect pink chocolate.
So, you can’t wait to make pink chocolate? Same here! Let’s dive in!
Make sure all your utensils are clean and completely dry. Even a drop of water can make the chocolate seize and become grainy. You’ll need:
- a mold
- a pot
- a bowl,
- two spatulas,
- a dry blender or a grater.
Ingredients:
- White chocolate or white chocolate chips
- Freeze-dried strawberries (for natural coloring)
- Oil-based red food coloring (for coloring with food color)
First Method: Natural Coloring with Strawberries
- Use freeze-dried strawberries for natural coloring. You can buy them online. We got ours from a big online store. Search for “freeze-dried strawberries”, and you’ll find them easily.
- Grind the freeze-dried strawberries in the blender as fine as possible. If some larger pieces are left, that’s okay. They’ll add a nice texture to the chocolate.
- Finely chop the white chocolate using a knife, grater, or food processor. We use a blender grater. You can use white chocolate chips instead of white chocolate – they work perfectly for pink chocolate. And you don’t need to chop them.
- Set up a double boiler. Find a bowl that fits snugly over a pot of boiling water. But don’t let the bottom of the bowl touch the water while you melt the chocolate. Be careful with steam. Don’t let drops of water mix into the chocolate.
- Add chopped chocolate to a bowl. Bring the water to a boil (without a bowl with chocolate on top), remove a pot from heat, and let it sit for 2-3 minutes to reduce the steam.
- Now, place the bowl with chocolate over the pot. Hold it there for 10-20 seconds, then remove and stir. Repeat until the chocolate melts: place the bowl over the pot with water, wait 10-20 seconds, remove, and mix. Don’t rush! Keep the chocolate from getting too hot. It should be about body temperature. Test it with your finger. It shouldn’t feel hot. Don’t overheat the chocolate because it can lose its texture and become dull.
- When the chocolate is well melted, remove it from the double boiler, add the ground pink strawberries, and quickly mix until smooth. Mix quickly and thoroughly because the coloring can become uneven.
- Pour the chocolate into a dry mold. We use a special mold for the chocolate, but you can use any silicone mold. All forms that you can bend easily work great for pink chocolate. Don’t use a glass mold because getting chocolate from it is impossible.
- Refrigerate for 1 hour.
Second Method: Using Food Coloring
- Choose red food coloring. Not all food colorings work for chocolate. Use oil-based coloring because water-based coloring makes chocolate grainy. We want to have perfect pink chocolate. We used gel food coloring, but the ingredients contained no water. The best way to choose food coloring for chocolate is to check the description on the website when you buy food coloring. Usually, there is a list of what the food coloring can be used for. If chocolate is on this list, it’s a great choice.
- Melt the chocolate as we did before. You can also use the microwave to melt the chocolate. For even heating, use a microwave-safe bowl. Melt in short-second intervals on low heat to avoid overheating.
- Add a few drops of red food dye and stir quickly until smooth. Mix quickly and thoroughly. If the pink color isn’t intense enough, add another drop. Add coloring step by step to avoid making the chocolate too red.
- Pour it into a dry mold and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Let’s Check Out the Results!
Chocolate colored with strawberries looks a bit grainy but has a beautiful, even color. It tastes a bit like strawberries. If you love strawberries (and who doesn’t!), you will love the combination of strawberries with white chocolate.
Chocolate with red food coloring is more even in color and tastes like regular white chocolate.
How to Store Pink Chocolate?
Store pink chocolate at room temperature. You can also use it to decorate fruits. We love to make pink strawberries or even dip bananas into pink chocolate. Both taste so delicious.
Store pink chocolate treats in an airtight container. At room temperature, they stay fresh for 1-2 days. You can also use a plastic wrap.

Make Pink Chocolate at Home (Easy DIY Tutorial)
Ingredients
- 150 g white chocolate or white chocolate chips
- 15 g freeze-dried strawberries for natural coloring
- or 3 drops of oil-based red food coloring for coloring with food color
Instructions
- We will show you two ways to make pink chocolate: naturally and with food coloring. Let’s start with the natural method. We need freeze-dried strawberries to make the chocolate pink. You can find them at many online stores. Begin by grinding 15 g of freeze-dried strawberries in a blender until they become a fine powder. If some small pieces are left, don’t worry. They will add texture and flavor to the pink chocolate.*
- Next, finely chop 150 g of white chocolate into small pieces. You can use a knife, grater, or food processor. We used a blender grater. You can use either white chocolate or white chocolate chips. Both work just as well.
- To melt the chocolate, we use a double boiler method. You can also melt chocolate in the microwave. First, bring water to a boil in a pot. Then remove it from the heat and wait 2-3 minutes until the steam is almost gone. Place a bowl with the chocolate over the pot. Make sure it doesn’t touch the water. Hold it over the pot for 10-20 seconds, then remove and stir. Repeat this process until the chocolate melts. Be careful that the chocolate doesn’t get too hot. Test the temperature with your finger. It shouldn’t feel too hot.*
- Once the chocolate is melted, remove it from the double boiler. Quickly mix in the ground pink strawberries. Distribute evenly for a beautiful pink color.
- Pour the chocolate into a dry mold. We prefer silicone molds or any other mold that is easy to bend. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Now, let’s explore the method using food coloring. Melt the chocolate as before, then add 3 drops of oil-based red food dye. Mix quickly and thoroughly. Avoid water-based food coloring, as it can make the chocolate grainy.* If the color isn’t intense enough, add another drop. But be cautious, as too much can turn the chocolate red.
- Pour the colored chocolate into a dry silicone mold and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Notes
- Make sure all kitchen utensils are clean and dry. If even a drop of water gets into the chocolate, it can become clumpy.
- Ensure the bowl doesn’t touch the water in the pot, and be careful with steam to ensure water doesn’t get into the chocolate.
- Don’t overheat the chocolate, as this can affect its texture. Patience will result in beautiful, shiny pink chocolate!
- Don’t use glass mold because getting chocolate from it is very difficult.
- We used gel food coloring, which doesn’t contain water. When you buy food coloring, always check the description to see what it can be used for. If chocolate is listed, it’s a good choice.
